“I’m President and You’re Not”: Donald Trump Snaps at Smug Lesley Stahl in One-on-One Interview

President Donald Trump sat down with veteran journalist Lesley Stahl for a one-on-one interview on “60 Minutes” and things got contentious at times. Stahl was pressing Trump over the child separation issue at the US-Mexico border, and the president finally snapped at her.

Before the conversation took an ugly turn, Stahl asked Trump if he had any regrets from his first two years in office.

Trump replied that his only regret is that the press treats him “terribly.” Stahl pressed him and he repeated, “I regret that the press treats me so badly.”

Then Stahl brought up the immigration policy that separates migrant kids from their parents–of course she failed to mention that Barack Obama’s Administration used the same policy but got no negative attention for it during his eight years in office.

When Trump brought up that the separation policy was initially put in place by Obama, Stahl said, “It was on the books, but he didn’t enforce it. You enforced it.”

Trump then correctly stated that the policy is effective at deterring more illegal immigration. He said, “There are consequences from coming into a country, namely our country, illegally.”

The president then told Stahl that she was treating him worse than she treated Obama while he was president. She responded, “I disagree, but I don’t wanna have that fight with you.”

Trump shot back, “Lesley, it’s okay. In the meantime, I’m president and you’re not.”

Hah! This is why so many people love President Trump. He doesn’t allow the media to bully him like so many other Republicans before him did. We finally have a fighter in office, somebody who will stick up for himself and other conservatives.
